Question:

Romeo and Juliet: issues to write about for newspaper forum?

We're supposed to come up with a newspaper for Romeo and Juliet Acts 1-3. I'm supposed to be writing a debate/forum or letter to editor on a topic (eg. arranged marriages). How do i write one (format?) and what are some possible issues to write about apart from arranged marriages and infatuation? A suggested topic was generation gap. What does that mean? Also, is it a must to refer to another article previously published? How do you start writing?

  1. You've asked a lot in one question.  I can give you a little help.  The generation gap refers to the differences in terms of values that always exist between generations - you have different values and goals and ideals now than your parents do, just as they differed from their parents.

Another topic you might consider is forbidden love.

Here are links to a couple of study guides about the play. They should help you. Also do a search here in the Yahoo Answers search window for Romeo and Juliet as hundreds of questions have been asked here about it, and those Q's and A's should also help you.
