How does friar lawrence try to comfort Romeo in his grief ?

  2. Remember, by Act III, Romeo and Juliet have been secretly wed, but furthermore, Romeo got into the fight with Tybalt (Juliet's Cousin) and killed him--and Romeo has been banished from Verona (meaning exiled, he cannot live there anymore).  So Friar Lawrence says,

    "I'll give thee armour to keep off that word:

    Adversity's sweet milk, philosophy,

    To comfort thee, though thou art banished."

    Meaning, I'm going to use some logic to give him peace of mind.  His logic (after the entrance of the Nurse) is the idea that exile is better than death and if he can hide out in Mantua for a bit there may be a time/place to announce the marriage of these two young lovers (and hopefully heal the breach between their feuding families) so that Romeo may receive some 'forgiveness' for Tybalt's death (who killed Romeo's best friend Mercutio).
