Romney Marsh aim to win the first race of her career in the Plumpton Athletic Juniors Handicap Hurdle
Eight runners will be competing in the Plumpton Athletic Juniors Handicap Hurdle which is scheduled to take place at Plumpton on 13th May, 2012.
Bringing their best to the track, the runners will compete for a purse of £2,259 over a distance of 3 miles, 1 furlong and 110 yards on a surface that has been labelled soft.
Realisation and Romney Marsh are the ones who are likely to take the race from the other runners, by making their way to the front.
Realisation, trained by Evan Williams has the capability, skill and experience to turn in a good performance. He has also shown consistency, which is definitely something that gives him more appeal over the others.
The son of Alhaarth, out of mare Live Your Dreams, finished his last season on a good note as he stood third in the Rugbi Industrial Supplies Merry Christmas Everyone Handicap Hurdle at Ffos Las on 21st December, 2011.
The bay gelding’s seasonal debut wasn’t impressive as he finished eighth, but his most recent race shows his true potential when he finished third in the Best Odds With Corbett Sports Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at Ludlow in March 2012.
Over the course of his career, he has somewhat maintained his consistency as he finished third ten times.
Romney Marsh, daughter of Glacial Storm will aim to prevail in this race and with her form, she just might do it.
Trained by Roger Curtis, the brown mare came back strong this season. She was pulled up from the last two races of her previous but this season, her performances keep on improving with every race.
Owned by The Romney Marsh Partnership, she finished in third place in the Marlea Avian Control Handicap Hurdle at Plumpton on 27th April, 2012, where she was mounted by jockey, Hadden Frost.
It seems that this mare will down the victory today, as she has come back to prover herself. She will definitely try to make use of this opportunity and shine.
She has the speed but with a little effort, she is ready to snatch the first victory of her career.
