Ron Roenicke hopeful of Ryan Braun’s hearing – MLB News
Facing a 50-game suspension, the Milwaukee Brewers’ left fielder Ryan Braun is all set and excited to start Spring Training. The team manager Ron Roenicke stated on Monday, February 20, expressed hope that the outcome will be favourable for the team.
"He's been doing good all winter though this, and he's excited to get going in Spring Training," said Roenicke, who is said to have spoken with the Milwaukee player. "Hopefully, the outcome will be the way we all want it.”
Ryan Braun is currently awaiting the decision after he made an appeal in front of a three-person jury. The 50-game suspension is under Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program as he failed to clear the drug test.
The appeal hearing commenced on January 19 and attracted enormous attention. However, nothing has been made public so far and the decision in this regard has yet to be publicised. A month into the hearing, both fans and the whole Brewers administration has
their eyes set on it.
Ron Roenicke is completely aware of how big such a loss usually is.
"I know everybody thinks it's really hard, but it's not something that I dwell on. I know what happens during the course of a season when you lose players -- key players -- and it's part of baseball. You just deal with it.”
This controversy that popped up so unexpectedly caused huge dismay within the camp. It also compounded the problem for the Brewers when it came to the offence which heavily relied on Ryan Braun.
Add to it the fact that Prince Fielder also signed a deal with the Detroit Tigers after serving the Brewers for years. It was the duo of Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun which would be too powerful and dominate last season.
As Prince Fielder is gone and Ryan Braun anxiously waiting for the decision of the jury, the Brewers, will have their Spring Training with the same gusto. The club will definitely bank on other hitters if the left fielder Ryan Braun does not get the result
he is expecting at this point in time.
