The former AZ Alkmaar stopper is on the verge of completing his ‘dream move’ to English Premier League outfit Aston Villa, but has admitted that leaving the Eredivisie side will be tough for him.
Feyenoord Rotterdam have reportedly confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697 will be joining Aston Villa in the coming days, and will put pen to a three-year contract after passing a medical next week.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar stopper, who had been plying his trade at De Kuip Stadion since the summer of 2006, had long been linked with a move to Villa Park in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Despite visiting the Villans and meeting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert a couple of weeks ago, the central defender recently stated that his move to the Villa seems to be off after the English side failed to pursue their interest seriously.
However, the Midlands club resurrected the transfer talks with the Rotterdammers, and have now reportedly reached an agreement with the Eredivisie side in a deal believed to be in the region of four million Euros.
Vlaar, who made 132 league appearances for the Rotterdam giants during his six-season stay at De Kuip Stadion, has revealed that leaving the club is not that easy despite a move to play in the English Premier League was his dream.
“It's a strange feeling to leave Feyenoord but it was a dream for me to move on to the Premier League. I can imagine the fans aren't that happy with me at the moment, but I hope they grant me this transfer to the Premier League”,

The Dutch stopper, who has thus far represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 in nine matches, went on to stress that he has experienced many highs and lows at De Kuip Stadion.
“It will be tough for me to leave Feyenoord because my heart is with the club. I have experienced a lot at the club, ups and downs. The absolute highlight for me was last season, when we ended up as second in the league with Feyenoord
and I was part of the Dutch squad for the European Championship”, Vlaar concluded.
The 27-year-old will undergo a medical at Villa Park on Monday, July 30.
