Ronald Cruz celebrates his victory against Doel Carrasquillo in US
The 24-year-old, Orthodox stance Ronald Cruz won technical knockout (TKO) decision against Doel Carrasquillo of America in their ten-round competitive bout for 146 lbs on Friday 1st of July last night at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
The time was 1:09 of the sixth-round, when the referee Steve Smoger ruled the bout off raising Cruz’s hand as a champion.
The fight was presented by Peltz Boxing Promotions. Dave Greer, Jack Castellani and Steve Weisfeld were performing their duties as the judges to that competitive bout. Cruz (with 5 feet 8 inches height (173cm)) was performing in front of his home crowd.
About 1,300 boxing fans were present there at the Sands Casino to see live action.
Talking about the crowd Cruz said, “I pretty much understand I can't let the emotion of the crowd affect me, I had to just focus and do my job and that is what I did.”
The Welterweight contender, Cruz performed very well from the beginning to take that bout away from the 38-year-old, Orthodox stance Carrasquillo. The American national, Cruz won his number thirteen consecutive fight against the Middleweight contender, Carrasquillo.
Carrasquillo (with 5 feet 6 inches height (168cm) and 70 inches reach (178cm)) faced his number eighteen loss of his career after losing this bout against Cruz.
Adding to this Cruz said, “I could tell he was weakening from the body shots, I thought maybe in the seventh or eighth round he would go down, but he decided to stop fighting so he made it a shorter night for me.”Cruz said he would love to fight here in
Bethlehem again if he gets a chance.
Cruz has been an outstanding fighter since his joining to boxing. He has never been defeated by anyone in his career won all of his 13 competition against the world best opposition.
Carrasquillo should try to learn from his past mistakes in an objective to stay active in the world of boxing.
Hopefully, the victory will bring big names against Cruz in the future and he will keep winning rest of his competition with style.
