The former Barcelona player has admitted that it will be difficult for the club to retain the Danish sensation’s services following immense interest, but has urged the 20-year-old to spend one more season at Amsterdam Arena at least.
Ajax A1 coach, Ronald de Boer, has urged the Danish wonder-kid, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074, to snub interest from abroad in order to spend another season at Amsterdam Arena.
The talented young midfielder has long been linked with a number of elite European clubs including the likes of Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and many more.
However, following his dazzling performances against Manchester City in UEFA Champions League, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s men have also entered the race to acquire the 20-year-old’s signature before the start of the 2013/14 campaign.
De Boer, the elder twin brother of Frank de Boer, has urged Eriksen to prolong his stay at Amsterdam Arena, while admitting that it will be hard for the Amsterdammers management to retain his services.
“Eriksen is only 20, but already seems older than he is. He has so much talent and of course it is difficult to keep him. I think he is a player for Madrid or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 but I think one more year at Ajax wouldn't hurt him. Although that's difficult - I can't
predict next year he will be at us”, the 42-year-old was quoted as saying to journalists.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 star went on to admit that even though the club management will love to have him in the squad for the next season as well, it will be hard to keep him if any interested club tables a mammoth offer for his services.
“It would be great to have him in the team but if a team comes along and puts a big bag of money it would be impossible for Ajax to keep him”, De Boer concluded.
Eriksen has an ongoing contract that will keep him at Amsterdam Arena until the summer of 2014. However, reports indicate that an offer in the region of 22 million Euros would be enough to lure the midfield maestro away from the Eredivisie champions.
