Ronaldinho is not moving to Blackburn, says Venky's director Venkatesh Rao.
Venky's director Venkatesh Rao has stated that their club, Blackburn Rovers, is not interested in buying the Brazilian star Ronaldinho. It had been continuously reported in the past few days that the new Indian owners were keen to bring the player to Ewood
Park. Since Sunday, there has been high speculation on the future of the 30-year-old as his tenure at current club AC Milan is almost certain to end in the near future.
Rumors of an expected move to the Premier League rose after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldinho-c31733’s brother and agent Roberto De Assis publicly revealed that his client has been approached by Blackburn. Rao, however, has dismissed these reports but insisted that the club will be spending
money in the January transfer window.
He said, “That is not true. There is no interest at all, they are just rumors. We are still finalizing possible signings but hopefully we can come out into the press and make things clearer in a week. Discussions are still going on and meetings are going
on. Money is not the criteria at all though, we do not mind about the money. It is about getting the right players for Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and we have enough money to do that.”
Blackburn are expected to spend heavily, trying to recruit quality players, during the transfer window. The new Indian owners have already dismissed manager Sam Allardyce, just days after taking over at Ewood Park.
Ronaldinho is currently in talks with Gremio and the Brazilian club is currently considered the running favorites to secure the player’s signature. AC Milan too has resigned to the fact that the Brazilian will leave the club in the January transfer window.
Milan striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 has said, “I'm disappointed Ronaldinho is no longer with us. In my view, he is one of the greatest champions of all time and it was an honor to play alongside him.”
Of late, the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year has not been able to achieve the high standards he set during the early years of his career. He is now looking to get his career back on track to regain his spot in the Brazilian squad. His club future,
though, will be decided in the coming few days.
