Ronaldinho urges Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join AC Milan
Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (‘Ronaldinho’) has weighed in over Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s proposed move to AC Milan from Barcelona as he today urged the striker to join him at the Serie A club.
Adriano Galliani has been working hard to try and sign the Sweden international and Ronaldinho has tried to help the Milan vice-president in his bid by trying to persuade Ibra to make the move back to Italian football.
The Brazil international, who himself made the switch from Barca to Milan for around 18.5 million euros in the summer of 2008, told Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo that: “I don't know if Ibrahimovic will come to Milan to play with me and [Alexandre] Pato, but the idea of playing with one of the best strikers in the world is fascinating. If Ibrahimovic signed for Milan it would be perfect."
Loan swap deal
It has been suggested that Milan are trying to convince Barca to part with their player by signing him on loan with striker Marco Borriello heading in the opposite direction for the season. However, the deal has reportedly stalled over the issue of wages.
Ibra earns around 12 million euros per year as one of the world’s highest-earning footballers. However, Borriello takes home three million euros per year, leaving a shortfall of nine million euros. It has been reported by Sky Sport Italia that Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi may reach into his wallet to make up the difference as Ibra is said to be unwilling to take a pay cut.
Ibra has played in Serie A before as he spent two years with Juventus before making a 24.8 million euro move to Inter Milan in the summer of 2006. He won the Scudetto in each of his three seasons with Inter as well and also triumphed twice in the Supercoppa Italiana.
