When Sir Bobby http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, a goal which was created and finished off by the Brazilian striker in his youthful pomp does justice
to what the player himself is all about. Whilst modern football revolves around fashion stars such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 and Xavi Hernandez, people are quick to forget the legends that have graced the
game in the past.
One of such players is undoubtedly, R9 – Ronaldo. CR7 might be the flavour of the week now but many experts still consider the Brazilian Ronaldo be to the best striker of all time but why so? One can realize this by his achievements
over a long yet an injury plagued playing career. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lima-c22267 started his career as a skinny boy in Brazil. According to the man himself;
“In Brazil every kid starts playing street football very early. It’s in our blood. Every time I went away I was deceiving my mum. I’d tell her I was going to school but I’d be out on the street playing football. I always had
a ball on my feet.”
Football was surely in Ronaldo’s blood. He started off his life on the streets of Bento Ribeiro which is a well recognized suburb of Rio de Janeiro. Playing on the streets in dust and rock with other kids of his age, Ronaldo soon
caught attention of football scouts that visited Bento Ribeiro on a regular basis. His enigmatic approach to the game and his mercurial talent was soon the talk of town as Brazil’s legendary footballer Jairzinho spotted his talent.
However the little teenager was soon dealt with his heart break of his footballing career when his favourite club, Flamengo refused to sign him up despite his extra ordinary talent. As history would show later on, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Flamengo-c39361’s
loss rather than Ronaldo’s. Jairzinho took the young Brazilian striker under his wing and recommended him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cruzeiro-c38870.
Jairzinho’s former club snapped up the opportunity to sign Ronaldo and the 16-year old skinny yet deceptively speedy striker went onto score 44 times for his new employers. It was a shock to all footballing pundits in Brazil. They
were astounded by the young striker’s ability to blitz past defenders and then apply the finishing touches with merest of ease. Nobody had seen a talent like Ronaldo since the golden days of Brazilian football.
People immediately started to compare him with the great http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pele-c40189 as he had entered the Brazilian football scene at exactly the same age. However that was not the end of it for Ronaldo. At the tender age of 17, Ronaldo was selected
in the Brazilian national team squad which went onto win the FIFA 1994 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven.
It was Piet De Visser who spotted the young Brazilian forward and recommended him to PSV. Visser had earlier on in his career also scouted the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romario-c31667, who also advised Ronaldo to begin his career in Europe with PSV Eindhoven.
Upon his arrival in Holland, Ronaldo attracted all the spot light as he was also selected in the 1996 http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympic-c40122 squad for the Brazilian national team.
