The Real Madrid forward has stated that he is not frustrated after finishing 2nd to Barcelona attacker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 and has believes life goes on.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi became the first player in the history of the game to win 4 Ballon d’Or titles in row on Monday as the football body acknowledged his feats for the past season by allotting him the individual honour.
Ballon d’Or is a French based award and is considered as the greatest individual merit that a person can achieve. The official football governing body also acknowledged the importance of the accolade last year and collectively named it as the FIFA Ballon
d’Or award.
Former Manchester United winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international Lionel Messi were voted as the top three of this year’s prize and all of the three enjoyed brilliant seasons to have a say at the
honour.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has already won the award on previous occasions while Iniesta was new to the competition and had never made it to the final three in past.
Ronaldo grabbed the award back in 2008 as he led Manchester United to a memorable double of the UEFA Champions League and the Barclays Premier League titles. Lionel Messi already had a hat-trick of the prestigious accolade under his belt as he had gone on
to win the award on the previous three occasions in a row.
The ceremony on the night once again awarded the prize to Argentine forward Lionel Messi to make it 4 in succession for the Barcelona wizard.
Many were expecting a change in personnel this time around as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 arguably had a better season than his Barcelona counterpart where he led Real to the double of La Liga title and Spanish Super Copa. Besides this, the attacker also performed amazingly
at the Euros and led http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 to the semi-final of the tournament, deservedly.
However, despite the snub, Ronaldo stood tall to the occasion and he was seen clapping with a broad grin on his face to acknowledge for Lionel Messi, when the award was distributed to the Argentine.
“I am calm about it — it’s not a matter of life and death. Life goes on. I don’t feel frustrated,” he added.
Ronaldo has been widely criticised for his arrogance and attitude in the past but now it seems that the Portuguese forward has a pretty humble personality, despite being portrayed as someone else.
