While attending the annual Global Soccer convention in Dubai, the Portuguese skipper voiced his opinion stating that he believed the Spanish Primera Division to be the most excellent domestic competition in the world of football.
The 26-year-old was awarded the Best Player award at the convention and was given the chance to verbalize about his experience as one of the best players in the world.
Ronaldo expressed how playing in Spain is a great fortune for any player. However, he maintained that his experience from the English Premier League helped him in learning a great deal about football.
The Portuguese international credited his stint with the Red Devils for helping him develop his basic skills about the modern game. He also emphasized that his spell with the Premier League Giants has helped him become the player he is today.
Ronaldo was signed by Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for a record-breaking transfer fee of 80 million Pounds.
The world’s most expensive player enjoyed a successful spell with Manchester United before moving to Santiago Bernabeu. He helped United win three consecutive Premier League titles and further added a Champions League trophy to the Red Devils’ cabinet.
During his stay in the English Premier League, he was awarded the Ballon d’Or award in the year 2008.
However, the Madridista recently insisted that he is currently enjoying his time with Los Blancos. He emphasized that La Liga is more technical and clearly superior to other domestic leagues across Europe.
While speaking at the Global Soccer convention, Ronaldo quoted:
"When I was at Manchester United, I learned the basic rules of football, especially the discipline of tackling, but La Liga is the best in the world because it is based on players' skills and technique."
Ronaldo also discussed his attitude as an athlete and as a person. He expressed how he favours to live the moment and doesn’t worry about the future.
“I do not want to think about what will happen, instead I [prefer to] enjoy the moment," he said.
So far, the Portuguese skipper is having an excellent season with Jose Mourinho’s side, having managed to score a total of 25 goals in 23 appearances.
