The Los Blancos were finding it hard to win games without their favourite star winger, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese captain has been Real Madrid’s biggest inspiration in front of goal since he has joined the club.
Signed for the English side Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has proven his £80million value for the Spanish club. While performing for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 71 goals in only 78 appearances that he has made.
Real Madrid bought three star players in a single season to beat Barcelona’s monopoly in the Spanish La Liga. The Catalan Giants had the likes of Xavi Hernandez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296, Andres Iniesta, Samuel Eto’o and others and they were looking to be a very strong
party to win the title.
Real Madrid did not want to take any chances against Barcelona in terms of sharing the Spanish La Liga glory. The Los Blancos decided to buy the French striker Karim Benzema, the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and the Brazilian maestro Ricardo Kaka. All
the three players performed well for their respective clubs.
Cristiano Ronaldo helped Manchester United in two consecutive UEFA Champions League final in the 2007-2008 season and the 2008-2009 season. The Portuguese star helped the English club win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 back in 2008. However, he couldn’t help his team pick
up a win against Barcelona when the Catalan club won six trophies in a single season.
Karim Benzema enjoyed his last season at Lyon. The French side won the title in 2007-2008, just a year before Benzema’s arrival at the Spanish club. Benzema scored 31 goals during that season and was able to score 23 goals the very next season.
Ricardo Kaka was enjoying a great career in the Italian club AC Milan. His last season at the Italian club saw him scoring 16 goals and setting up 10. Despite having such a good record with the Italian side, he couldn’t help them win the Italian Serie A.
With these three players making way to the Santiago Bernabeu to sign a contract for the Spanish club, it was expected to be a tough competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Both the parties were full of star studded footballers and both the teams were
equally favourites to win the Spanish title.
As http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini took care of his job at the Los Blancos, Barcelona welcomed their former player Josep Guardiola, as their coach.
While Pellegrini believed in the fire power he had up front, Josep Guardiola relied on his full team and gave everyone a fair chance to keep the ball to themselves. The Spanish coach introduced tiki-taka style of play and it really worked out for the Catalan
club and helped them win six trophies in the season of Josep Guardiola’s reign.
Real Madrid were finding it hard to cope-up with the pressure that was put on them by Barcelona. Players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815, were failing to perform at their best.
During these circumstances, Real Madrid needed one player who could keep them up and running. The Los Blancos needed a messiah who could save them the embarrassment after spending so much cash on buying players.
