Brazilian legend, Ronaldo has admitted that he would like to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 represent Great Britain at the London Olympics this year.
Beckham has been rumoured to be one of the players who could make the cut and play in the GB team in the upcoming Olympics.
However, so far, Stuart Pearce is yet to reveal whether the veteran midfielder would make the cut or not.
The Olympics allow teams to have only three players over the age of twenty three and hence Pearce is trying to find the best possible players to make the team.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 is one of the favourites to be names in the squad, but apart from him, it is quite unclear who the other senior players would be in the team.
Beckham is currently acting as an ambassador for UK and he even went on to travel to Athens to participate in the official passing of the Olympic flame.
Despite the English superstar taking part in helping out with trivial things, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 has gone on to insist that Beckham must make the final team.
The Brazilian legend played with Beckham for Real Madrid and he is well aware of the talent that the midfielder possesses. At the same time, he feels that his fitness is just right to participate in the tournament and hence there shouldn’t be any problems
with him making the team.
Ronaldo is quoted to have said: "I know http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 would love to play for Team GB — and he should. It would be a great chance for him to achieve his Olympic dream.”
"I do not have a reason why he shouldn’t be picked. It would be good for GB and it would be good for the tournament for him to play in his home city. He has a chance to make history.”
"There is no doubt that the whole world would like to see him play."
It is now up to Stuart Pearce to decide whether he is going to let Beckham play for the GB team or not. At the same time, this is quite possibly the last time Beckham will be allowed to play at the international stage, given his age.
