The retired English footballer has lauded the former Red Devil and has claimed that he was a better in the English Premier League.

Sir Bobby expressed that Ronaldo’s exploits at the Santiago Bernabeu are admirable, but maintained that the English Premier League saw the player become what he is today.
The Portuguese international joined Los Merengues in the summer transfer window of 2009, prior to the start of the Spanish La Liga’s campaign for the 2009-2010 season.
The player was bought by the nine-time European champions for a whopping amount of 80 million pounds, hence becoming the most expensive player in the world of football.
Before joining the Spanish capital-based outfit, the player had the opportunity of representing the English Premier League giants, Manchester United, for six odd years.

Charlton has argued that since Ronaldo played in the midfield while representing the Red Devils, he was more important on the field, whereas he plays as a striker at Madrid.
While talking to reporters, the former English international quoted:
"He's a wonderful player. Obviously, I know him well because he played at United, so it's no surprise for me that he's having such a remarkable season.”
"But I think he was better at United than he is at Madrid. Seriously! Here, he scores more goals, but he played in Manchester in the middle of the field but Real Madrid see him more as a striker."
At the moment, the Portuguese skipper has scored 44 goals in the Spanish La Liga and is in contention to win the Pichichi award once again.
