Rondo and Rose fans excited about Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics game tonight
Boston Celtics and the fearsome Chicago Bulls will play at TD Garden in Boston tonight at 8:00 pm. Tom Thibodeau, former head coach of the Boston Celtics, who is now the head coach of the rivals team Chicago Bulls, will face his former team for the first
time since he joined the Bulls.
A renewal of the rivalry that was born in the 2009 playoffs will take place tonight with an addition of the poor coach to face his former team as well.
This is going to be the first game both teams play against each other this season.
Thibodeau was successful in empowering the defences of his team back when he was with the Celtics. Boston qualified for the NBA finals twice under his coaching. He was then hired as the 18th coach of the Chicago Bulls as he earned a great reputation
as one of the top 18 defensive coaches.
Garnett was honoured when he received his lone defensive award for player of the year in 2007-08. This was the time when Boston won its 17th championship and made a record.
Garnett has been approached for all the wrong reasons after Charlie Villanueva posted on his Twitter account that Garnett called him a cancer patient. Villanueva said that this happened during the Celtics win 109-86 on Tuesday.
This controversy did affect the performance of the poor player as he could only score 13 points and 8 rebounds on Wednesday. This happened when his team played and won over Milwaukee Bucks 105-102. Garnett was also whistled for a technical foul in the same
game for the second straight night.
Garnett said that he is trying to get his best out of all the rules in the situation. He said that he is a passionate player and he plays with a lot of energy. He has been playing for 15 to 16 years and said that he has always played this way.
The 7’ 1 inches tall Celtics player, Shaquille O’ Neal, will not be able to make it tonight. He has already missed two of his matches with a bruised right knee and is likely to miss the third one tonight. Kendrick Perkins is also down with a knee injury
and is out until January 2011.
Paul Pierce, who just scored 20,000 points in his career, and entered the Hall of Famers is most likely going to be the most dangerous player for the Bulls. Thibodeau will have to coach the team very well if they want to keep Pierce quiet.
Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose would also be facing each other again. They happen to be two tough rivals. Two seasons ago, as the two teams faced each other, it was this combo’s contrasting chemistry that resulted in victory for the Celtics in seven games.
Both the point guards have had a strong start in 2010-11. Celtics are lucky to have Rajon Rondo, who is leading the NBA with his 16.4 assists per game. Derrick Rose on the other hand is leading the Eastern Conference and has an average of 26.8 points.
The Bulls fans did not seem to be very happy with the head coach, Thibodeau, on Thursday as the Bulls lost against New York. Rose had to sit out the final 9:31 and was successful in scoring 24 points and 14 assists. The fans were enraged at that and they
kept chanting “We want Rose”. But Rose couldn’t make it back to the game after that.
Let’s see if Rose and Rondo cheer up their fans tonight. It’s all but a matter of luck and chance. And there is always a brighter light at the end of a dark tunnel.
