Rondo’s triple double help Celtics cross Miami 3-0 this season
The charged-up Miami Heat could not surpass the Rajon Rondo-led Boston Celtics who breezed past them whilst clinching a 85-82 victory at TD Garden. Rondo sealed a tenacious triple-double to hop past Miami advancing to a 3-0 this season. The blow was too
hard for the Heats to take but they could not help it. Even LeBron James could not make it against the C’s.
Miami has failed to defeat the Celtics this regular season and might consider taking revenge in the playoffs.
Boston made it to the top position in the Eastern Conference while the Heat saw its eight-game winning streak breaking into pieces against their tenacious opponents on 13 February. The Celtics had a strong defence and went scoring 10 of their 12 shots out
of the third quarter in which they had 35 points. The winners acquired 39 points in the first half and those whopping 35 points were just four points less than their combined score for the first two quarters.
Too bad for Miami that once the game was at the verge of a turning point, King James could not make first of the two free throws that came his way. Just 12.5 seconds in the buzzer, all eyes set on the 26-year-old and there he goes, missing that game tying
free throw. The moment James missed that free throw, Miami lost its hopes of winning their first clash over the Celtics this season. The player who is definitely going to get blamed for sliding down in the surge, later said, “I have the same feeling right
now as I had when I was in my third and fourth year and we played Detroit. Regular season and playoffs, we just couldn’t get over the hump.”
The game was hard for Dwayne Wade as well, as the player had difficulties chasing Ray Allen around the court. Mike Miller shares a part of the loss with James as the 30-year-old missed a crucial game-saving three-pointer with three seconds left in buzzer.
Chris Bosh pounced game high 24 points along with 10 boards to score a double-double. James followed with 22 points, along with seven boards and seven dimes.
The Celtics did not leave a strong impact in the first half scoring just 15 in the first and 24 in second quarters. They had some very tenacious shots coming in the opening six minutes of the third quarter. The Celtics drove by with a 20-3 run after that
as Rondo made an entry and started filling in with what was missing. The player scooped out nine points, four boards and dished out three dimes during the leap of time. He was cheering up to the victory and was later quoted as saying, "You can downplay it
all you want, but this was a big game for us."
Miami lost, but Bosh shined throughout. The power forward had all his four shots accomplished in the first half of the game. The player went a remarkable 8-for-11 from the field and pulled out 10 rebounds along with game-high 24 points during his 41 minutes
on the court.
One player who was down in the victory for the Celtics was their captain Paul Pierce. The C’s captain could not score more than one point during a frame of 39 minutes and failed to grab any of the ten shots that came his way. The player’s is down with flu
bug that kept him from the offence that he was expected to show.
