Ronnie O’Sullivan ecstatic after taking fourth World Snooker Championship title against Ali Carter
Winner of the 2012 German Masters from England, Ronnie O’Sullivan put up a scintillating snooker show in the final encounter of the 2012 World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The Englishman produced fireworks with his cue stick
and nudged his opponent down easily with the help of some outstanding snooker shots which stunned everybody present at the Crucible arena.
The Englishman had a poor season last year and tumbled down in the world ranking. There was a time when he was about to crash out of the Top 16. The Essex Exocet even hinted his retirement a couple of time during his season run. Especially at the end of
the 2011 World Snooker Championship, where he fell out of the line-up, O’Sullivan was very upset and there was a threat about his retirement.
However, the Wordsley cueman did not lose his hopes and he came back tremendously in the 2011-12 Snooker Season with a classy win in the first event of the 2011-12 Players Tour Championship (PTC). His victory in the PTC ensured his success in the rest of
the season. The first half of the season brought two PTC and two Premier League Snooker (PLS) wins.
The second half was also lucky for him as he hit the 2012 German Masters snooker event. But due to his illness, as he was suffering from glandular fever, he pulled out of the 2012 Haikou World Open and the 2011-12 PTC Grand Finals. Nevertheless, despite
his illness, he did not lose his spirit and came back brilliantly into the season to hit the victory in the 2012 World Snooker Championship finally.
While speaking to World Snooker after his title win, O’Sullivan said, “I just want to congratulate Ali on a brilliant tournament, he's come good again, he's beaten some brilliant players and to make it all the way to the final, I've just got to say well
done to Ali really.”
The Essex cueist added, “I just think I played with a bit more fluency, I tried to stay patient, I think I only lost it once during the whole tournament where I thought I'm not really up to scratch. I quickly turned that session around and it's just about
staying in control of your emotions and not getting too carried away.”
O’Sullivan threatened his retirement this time as well before going into the finals of the mega event but it seems that he is not thinking about it right now.
