Ronnie O’Sullivan feels mentally strong after beating Peter Ebdon in 2012 World Snooker Championship
Proclaimed to be the most naturally talented potter in the world, England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan has surged one step ahead in the 2012 World Snooker Championship after beating the former World Snooker Champion, compatriot Peter Ebdon by the score line of 10-4
in the first round at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The former three-time World Snooker Champion is now feeling mentally strong and is ready to face the circumstances.
The first day proceedings of the first-round clash finished in favour of O’Sullivan as he led the score board with 7-2 score line. On the second day, the game resumed with a superb frame win in favour of the Rocket. After that the Essex Exocet clinched two
more frames to ensure his victory and book his place in the second round line up.
O’Sullivan has been a superb performer so far despite the fact that he withdrew from a couple of major ranking tournaments due to the glandular fever. However, the Englishman believes that he is mentally strong now and can play well. The Magician is looking
forward to play well in the mega event and make history once again.
While speaking to the media, O’Sullivan said, “I've had a decent season, but it would be nice to win a few matches here. I'm not going to get carried away though.”
The 36-year-old added, “I've been working on that side of my game for the last year or so and that's important. I'm definitely much better mentally. My game's not brilliant, but at least my mind is allowing me to give 110 per cent and get what I can out
of matches, so I'm pleased with that side of things.”
The recent snooker has been tremendous for the Wordsley potter as he clinched some noticeable title wins including the Players Tour Championship (PTC), Premier League Snooker (PLS) and the 2012 German Masters. Besides, he reached the final stages of a couple
of major snooker tournaments which improved his rankings.
O’Sullivan will be facing either Wales’ Mark Williams or China’s Liu Chuang in the second round of the 2012 World Snooker Championship.
