Ronnie O’Sullivan hails big guns of snooker as he moves up in world rankings and PTC Order of Merit
Wordsley potter, Ronnie O’Sullivan feels that he has dropped out of the winners’ league due to his unconvincing performance during the last couple of years. He hailed his fellow snooker players for their excellent and title winning performances so far.
The 35-year-old has no certainty of remaining in the top-16 at the end of this season, as he believes he needs more major titles to keep up with other players, who have been winning something for the past two years. O’Sullivan reckons he should have grabbed
some titles like Masters and UK Championship, to sustain his ranks like Mark Williams and John Higgins.
Speaking to the media about other cueists, O’Sullivan said, “Those two (Higgins and Williams) are still winning titles. I was doing the same until two years ago, but I'm not any more so I'm not in that category.”
He added, “Then you've got Mark Selby who is World No 1 and very consistent, Shaun Murphy, Judd Trump, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui. There are eight or nine players who are winning everything, and I'm not one of them.”
Former three-time World Snooker Champion, England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan played outstandingly well in the Players Tour Championship (PTC) events and has once again topped the PTC Order of Merit after reaching the final encounter of PTC9 against young snooker
star, Judd Trump.
On the other hand, the Englishman has moved up in the world snooker rankings after this PTC achievement, and he is now placed at Number 11 position.
The Rocket spoke about the rankings, “I could have had Stephen Hendry's records in site, but I have had a lot of ups and downs in my career. The other players have flown past me and rankings don't lie.”
So far, in the current season, the Englishman has only won a few minor ranking events including two PTC events and a Premier League Snooker tournament. The Essex Exocet is looking forward to win some mega events like the upcoming UK Championship in December
and World Snooker Championship title at the Crucible, to stay in the winning league.
