Ronnie O’Sullivan holds most major ranking snooker event titles – Snooker News
Four-time World Snooker Championship winner, England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan had a superb season last year and was able to clinch a couple of major ranking snooker tournaments including the 2012 World Snooker Championship. Winning those event titles brought
O’Sullivan on top of the players who have the most ranking titles.
The Englishman performed tremendously in the recently finished snooker season despite the fact he was not feeling well because of glandular fever. The Essex Exocet is currently holding the top position in the professional standings with 39 titles including
four World Snooker Championships. The former four-time World Snooker Champion from Scotland, John Higgins is on second position with 28 titles.
The 2010-11 Snooker Season did not go according to O’Sullivan’s expectations and he tumbled down during his campaign of the season. During his season run, the Rocket hinted his retirement a couple of times and he was at the edge to slip out of the Top 16
potters but the Englishman made some drastic improvements in his snooker skills and came back strong in the next season.
The Wordsley potter had a blast in the 2011-12 Snooker Season when he clinched the opening tournament of Players Tour Championship (PTC). He defeated compatriot Joe Perry by the score line of 4-0 in the PTC Event 1 final. O’Sullivan’s comeback into the game
was due to the efforts of Dr. Steve Peters, a spots psychiatrist, who helped the Englishman love his game and enjoy playing each bit.
The Magician’s maximum 147 break in the fourth event of PTC confirmed that he is back in the game. However, he was not able to win the tournament and crashed out of the event in the semi-final encounter against the World Number one Mark Selby.
During his season run, O’Sullivan took two PTC events, two Premier League Snooker tournaments and the 2012 German Masters snooker event. His biggest achievement of the season was winning the 2012 World Snooker Championship after beating compatriot Ali Carter
by the score line of 18-11.
Currently he is holding 19 major ranking titles along with nine invitational event victories, nine Premier League Snooker tournament titles and two PTC series titles.
