Ronnie O’Sullivan receives a final warning from Berry Hearn – Snooker news
Three-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan has received a final warning about his performance from the Chairman of Matchroom Sport Barry Hearn for the upcoming 2011 World Snooker Championship.
It looks like as if the next week when the 2011 World Championship will start off, one of the snooker greats Ronnie O’Sullivan will be fighting for his future in the sport.
The chief was asked by the media if snooker still needs Ronnie O’Sullivan. He answered no. He said that the world of snooker does not really want Ronnie O’Sullivan, if he is not willing to show any interest for the game. He said he does not want him to pull
himself out of the tournaments in the last hour. He said previously he has been doing it but from now onwards there is a penalty that has been laid down in the rules.
O’Sullivan apart from not showing up in various tournaments this season also pulled himself out of the German Masters just one day before, reasoning illness and was criticised a lot by the media including Barry Hearn.
The Rocket, Ronnie O’Sullivan, who is said to be one of the most naturally gifted players ever to pick up the cue, has not been able to perform since the World Open in September. He has also suffered first round defeats in UK Championship, Masters Championship,
Welsh Open and China Open moreover he also was least bothered in the PTC Grand Finals event, and as a result he has fallen down to the tenth number in the world rankings.
Hearn has already suggested the 35-year-old O’Sullivan to resign from the game, as he knows his personal problems which are a big reason behind his downfall. O’Sullivan’s dad Ronnie Senior has been released from the prison recently and moreover splitting
from his life partner is the biggest cause as he since then has been fighting for his daughter Lily Jo and son Ronnie.
Hearn admitted the fact that Ronnie had a lot of pressure due to his personal issues but on the same note, he also mentioned that maybe he has fallen out of love with snooker. He said he has known Ronnie since he was 12. He said Ronnie likes to win big matches
but he has not shown up his fighting spirit since long and his performance has been shocking by the standards of any top 16 player.
Ronnie O’Sullivan will be one-on-one against the spaceman, Dominic Dale, in his first round match of the World Championship. Let’s see if he handles the pressure and brings his devastating form back.
