Ronnie O’Sullivan says he cannot win any more titles – Snooker news
Three-times Crucible winner, Ronnie O’Sullivan, has said he is not good enough to win anymore snooker titles.
O’Sullivan, who is known as the most naturally-gifted player ever to pick up a cue, suffered opening round defeats in all of the last four ranking events this season. However at the Crucible he managed to register wins over Dominic Dale and Shaun Murphy
in the first and the second round respectively, as he met Dr. Steve Peters in China.
The World Number ten, O’Sullivan, recently lost his battle in the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Snooker Championship by a frame score of 13-10 against the World Number one, John Higgins. He was leading 5-8 before he played some sloppy shots and was punished
by his opponent, who levelled the scores by 8-8 and then eventually won in the third session.
O’Sullivan admitted afterwards that he ruined his lead playing silly shots. He said “You can be as positive as you like but the game is about potting balls and I made far too many elementary mistakes, which is unforgivable at this level and at amateur level.
"I had a lot of chances - more than I expected - I just wasn't able to do anything. I can't just sit here (in the press conference) and say I deserved to win because I don't think I did. It is a work in progress but if it means feeling great and still playing
like that then that won't be good enough for me. I've won world titles and thought 'it's not doing it for me' so there's been a shift in how I feel and I can manage it better.”
The Rocket, O’Sullivan, also admitted the fact that he is not as good as he was before. He said he has been the World Champion three times and has won 22 ranking events but he doesn’t feel he can win anymore. He also highlighted the fact that his game has
lost all the standards even when he practises.
Let’s see if Ronnie O’Sullivan is able to gather himself for the upcoming events, as he really has an immense talent that should not go to waste.
