Ronnie O’Sullivan says will do his best to make another 147 at the Shanghai Open – Snooker news
The current world number 9, Ronnie O’Sullivan, who is famously known as the Rocket for his fast style of playing, has revealed he is aiming to produce another maximum break, 147, after he stormed into the second round of the Shanghai Open tournament beating
James Wattana by a frame score of 5-1.
The 35-year-old Englishman, O’Sullivan, who fired two century breaks of 111 and 110 while he cruised to the second round, missed the 2010 Shanghai Open tournament but this time he is back to business.
O’Sullivan, who is widely considered as the most naturally gifted player ever to pick up the cue, recently knocked in a 147 break in the PTC4 event against Adam Duffy. This was Ronnie’s 11th maximum which is a world record
now, as he previously joint-held a record of making ten 147 breaks with the seven-time Crucible winner, Stephen Hendry.
Three-time world champion, O’Sullivan, told the media he was pleased with himself as he was able to entertain the crowd in Germany by making a 147 and will try to make one more now, as the Brit wants to please his fans once again.
While speaking on his inclusion, O'Sullivan said, “It's nice to go into an arena where there are so many fans wanting to watch you play and I was pleased to be able to entertain. I know they want me to make a 147 and I'll be doing my best to get one here.”
O’Sullivan added, “It would be great to win this title again but all the best players are here so it will be difficult. If I can stop missing silly balls I'll have a chance, but it's too early to predict how far I can get.”
Ronnie O’Sullivan will now face Nottingham’s professional Anthony Hamilton in the next round and all that is left to see is whether Ronnie can really generate something extraordinary or not, as it will certainly please the crowd and his fans.
