Ronnie O’Sullivan sets up Jimmy White clash in Snooker Legends Cup – Snooker Update
Continuing the legacy of the Snooker Legends Cup, the former four-time World Snooker Championship winner, England’s Ronnie O’Sullivan will be meeting the former six-time World Snooker Championship finalist, compatriot Jimmy White in a head-to-head encounter
at The Auditorium at BT Convention Centre Liverpool on Thursday, October 25, 2012.
Many snooker fans are anxiously waiting for this battle as both potters have always entertained their fans with their tremendous snooker genius.
Both potters are famous for their unpredictable and furious game play and are considered two of the most entertaining cueman in the world. They are always in a light mood during their game and try to make it look easy. Previously they met in June where the
Essex Exocet cruised into firing the maximum 147 break which was indeed a superb display of his matchless potting skills.
Ronnie spoke about his next meeting with the Whirlwind, “I’m really looking forward to playing in Liverpool, I had some great times living there in my early days as a pro and have some lifelong friends still in the city – and playing against Jimmy you know
you’re in for a heck of a game.”
World renowned referee who also supervised the final encounter of the 2012 World Snooker Championship, Michaela Tabb will be watching over the clash.
The Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan is in a verbal brawl with the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) because he refused to play in all snooker events of the new season. The Englishman has not signed the new contract saying that he will
take part in selective snooker tournaments.
He said, “Have not signed my new tour contract as it is too restrictive therefore I will not play until Shanghai, I would still like to enter events such as Shanghai if the local promoter allows me as a wildcard for example.”
The Wordsley potter might play in the 2012 Shanghai Masters snooker event but for that he must sign the contract which has been made compulsory by the association. Without signing the contract, he will not be able to take part in any snooker event. It will
be interesting to see if O’Sullivan signs the contract as the fans are anxiously awaiting his presence in the new snooker season.
