Rookie Chang-won Han the clubhouse leader at Volvo China Open – European Tour 
First round at the Volvo China Open continues to produce some excellent results. Some players have completed their first rounds and carded under par rounds. The clubhouse leader is Chang-won Han from Korea, who started this tournament being a rookie.
The 19-year-old carved his way on top of the leader board and carded a fantastic round. His score-card was simply amazing as he posted a score of eight-under par, 64. The youngster was under no pressure and did not wary of the star-studded field. He made his own way and was holding his putts quite well.
Han from Korea had eight birdies on his score card. This was a brilliant performance by the teenager, as he proved himself on the course. The Korean started his campaign from the back-nine and only made two birdies. He really took charge on the front-nine as he made six birdies. The youngster had a great read of the greens and was stroking the ball well on the fast greens.
This was a brilliant show by the teenager. He finished the day in a classic manner by making four consecutive birdies in the last four holes. Currently, he has a lead of just one shot over his nearest contenders.
By having an excellent first round, he will surely look to capitalise this score and continue his birdie streak on the second day to maintain his lead.
Gareth Maybin of Northern Ireland has a deficit of just one shot over the teenager. He had a great composed round of seven-under par, 65 which included no blemishes. Maybin had five birdies and an eagle marked on his score card. The veteran hit some great golf shots during his round. Now that he trails by just one shot, he will surely be looking forward for playing the second round.
The weather conditions were a bit overcast as the players took full advantage of the soft greens. The top ranked players are still on the course completing their rounds. This Korean youngster was quite happy to emerge as the clubhouse leader after his great round. All the players finishing their rounds praised the efforts laid down by the greens keeper as the course was in immaculate shape.
