Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins was 06-07 and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals was 05-06.

Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins won it in the 2006/2007 season and Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals won it in the 2005/2006 season.

BTW the award for rookie of the year is called the Calder Memorial Trophy, Calder for short.
