ok, my room is CONSTANTLY over 83 degrees.. tops about 89. i have 3 fans blowing around... it helps a little, but even with them, during the day i end up waking up sweating and cant sleep at night.. i have shades on the windows, i have the 2 vents(i do have central air)open and not blocked off, i keep the light off most the time, .. my rooms the only hot room in this house..

i have a window that closes sideways, so an AC for those thats not over 400 bucks i cant get..

  1. This sounds to me like an air flow problem, i would be willing to bet that is is worse with the door closed. this is because there is no return in your room.

    A fix.

Option 1. trim the door to the room so that there is a gap between  the bottom of the door. 1"-1 1/2" should be fine.

Option 2. Install a "vent" in the door. A simple grate type vent would be fine.

Option 3. Install a return air vent in the room. a vent that would suck air back out of the room as air is pushed in.

another thing you may want to check is to see if the "flex" ductwork running to the vents that supply that room with cold air are kinked. Flex should not be ran in a longer span than 10 feet, and should not make any sharp turns.

    hope that helps.

  2. Try a bucket of very cold water in your room one hour before bedtime.

  3. I think you should use window blinds especially which block unwanted heat of sun and let the fresh air pass into the room. .
