Room painting ideas anyone?

My boyfriend and I are planning on painting our room this weekend. Are there any websites where I can get ideas?

*We are trying to stick to tan, red, and black as the colors

  1. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    I think it might look very sophisticated to paint wide vertical stripes in "white duck" (# 7010) and "portico" (# 7548). At least on the wall behind the bed. It would look something like this:

    You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

    You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.


  2. I would advise against painting red. it's a HUGE PAIN IN THE BUTT. trust me, I'm working on the 4th coat of paint to try to even it out. not an easy color to work with.

    maybe try to use red in accessories instead? paint the walls the tan color, furniture in black and accessories in red.
