Room redone?

Question

ok so im doing my room over , furniture wall color ect.

im just not sure what to do with it , i want it colorful and nice looking , im trying to go for like a black and white look the only problem is my carpets dark purple.

any advise? pics would be nice

add splashes of red and dark purple in accents, like cushions, a vase or some knick knacks.

okay..here goes. You can keep your dark purple rug, Get a white comforter, add color in with a throw blanket and pillows along with sheets ( make the bed, like in the magazines, every morning)  Get a yellow lamp, paint the walls a lavender color. I think you should play up the purple, that way it will look like you did the purple carpet on purpose and tie it in very nicely..sort of like this. * but add more color*

hi..it sounds like a nice theme, the black and white, but you come up against with the purple carpet, unless you also seek out purple accessories as well as the black and white, this way you would tie in the colour scheme..

but if you are set just on the black and white, you may want to think about changing the carpet, if its within your budget..but really you would be surprised, how stunning purple, black and white would go together..

get a pad and paint the three colours, using normal watercolours, in lines next to each other and see how you feel about it.. put a mood board together, use fabric swatches or get the match pots, try out different shades of purple..

do not be afraid of colour..unfortunately today, everyone seems to copy the 'changing rooms' look, be yourself and do what YOU want to do..if someone else outside of your home does not like it, tell them that you do and they do not live there..do not be afraid to be an individual..

You can play down the purple colored flooring by using it as an accent color. You can still do the black and white theme, which is always classy and tasteful. You just use the purple as an accent color. Throw in just 2 accent purple pillow, and keep everything else black and white. That way it looks like you meant to keep the carpet! Hope that helps!
