The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 star has voiced his desire to remain at Old Trafford for his entire career, despite handing in a transfer request two years ago.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has undoubtedly been one of the country’s best footballers in recent times. The talented attacker’s prowess in front of goal, as well as ability to influence proceedings has earned him a huge number of trophies during his illustrious career.
Following a speculative transfer to Manchester United in 2004, he has been firing on all cylinders and looks set to continue his superb performances for both club and country.
However in 2010, the front-man shocked the footballing world by handing in a transfer request citing that the Red Devils were not ambitious anymore and that they were not taking the Premier League seriously.
United were stunned but reluctantly allowed the Three Lions’ International man to leave, only to see him pen a new deal at the helm that will keep him rooted for the time being.
Although sometimes a hothead, Rooney seems to have genuine love for the Reds, as he has regularly been supporting the idea of ending his career with the 19-time English champions.
Now he has continued with that notion, claiming that he made a mistake two years ago and now wants to hang up his boots while still in a United jersey.
“Sometimes as a player you make a bad decision, and that’s what happened. You see yourself somewhere else and that can play on your mind. I knew quickly I’d made a mistake. I went back and spoke to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Gill and the manager and told them that. I told them
I wanted to stay and be successful in the future.”
“Hopefully in ten years’ time I’ll still be at Manchester United. As long as this club wants me, I’ll be here. I saw the speculation a couple of weeks ago, but I didn’t take much notice of it. If the manager didn’t want me around, I’d be the first one he’d
tell. But if I’m wanted here, I’ll be here as long as possible,” he said.
Although currently out with injury, the forward should return to the starting line-up after his brutal gash heals in a few weeks.
