Rooney Leaves devastating outcome for Manchester United and England
Wayne Rooney created quite a stir at the Allianz Arena when he stumbled and landed on the ground as he hurt his left ankle and injured himself, to later find himself being escorted out in agony on crutches. A devastating outcome for Manchester United and England.

But it is also claimed Rooney hurt his right foot in the same incident, although there appeared to be no strapping or support on that foot as he left the stadium. However a protective boot over his left ankle was placed, using crutches for support, following a challenge with Mario Gomez in United's 2-1 Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat to Bayern Munich. Rooney had earlier scored his 34th goal of the season to put his side in front at the Allianz Arena.

Rooney will have further tests this week before United boss Sir Alex Ferguson knows the full extent of the damage.  But clearly he is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League encounter with Chelsea and the return against Bayern at Old Trafford next Wednesday.

This definitely brings a doubt about his participation along the remainder of the season followed by the World Cup into major question. It could very well be that his injury might take up a lot more time than anticipated due to the fact that he has had previous injuries where he has twice broken metatarsals in his career.

Ferguson said: "He's obviously hurt his ankle, we'll know better tomorrow. It's too early to say. I don't think it's terribly serious, but we'll wait and see."

Guess time will tell what will become of Rooney’s fate in time to come with his injuries being a major focus but one thing is for sure; he has scored 45% of all goals scored in the last 10 games and 32% of all goals for Man u this entire season.  His unique style of play will be missed by Man u fans but most importantly for the England’s fan the hope of bringing World Cup home is left in shatters.
