Manchester United’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has gone on to admit that he is rather happy with the way his side went on to bounce back from their loss to Athletic Bilbao, to go on and beat Wolves by five goals to nil.
United crashed out of the Europa League, after the team suffered a five goals to three loss to Bilbao last week.
The team was expected to fall from grace following that defeat to the Spanish side, but the team went on to do the complete opposite.
United went on to take the game to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 this past weekend and after a very impressive display, the team went on to win their game by five goals to nil.
Rooney has gone on to admit that this performance shown by his team is rather impressive and goes to show just how strong the team’s mentality is.
When talking about the team and their ability to get back up when they are considered to be down and out, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is quoted to have said: "It was a great result for us, Thursday against Athletic Bilbao was a disappointing night for us all.”
"We knew it was important we bounced back and bounced back well.”
"Over the last few years coming here has been a difficult game, so to come away with three points so convincingly is a great day for us.”
The forward then admitted that the first goal of the game was possibly the most important, since it gave the team the confidence to go on and score some more goals, while quieting down the home fans.
"The most important goal away from home is the first one to quiet the home fans down and then they had a man sent off and we took advantage of that, got a goal quickly after that and from there the game was dead really," Rooney added.
Should the Red Devils continue to perform in the same manner, they could easily see themselves extend their lead at the top of the table even further.
Untied are currently sitting on top of the table with a four point lead, but with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 set to take on Manchester City on Wednesday, they could see that lead drop down to just one point, should City beat the Blues.
