Manchester United’s forward and England international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and the Three Lions use, could see them both cancel each other out.
The striker went on to mark his return to the England first team in the last game, as the Three Lions took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 in their last group game of the competition.
Rooney went on to score the only goal of the game, as he nodded the ball into the back of the net from point blank range. However, his goal was enough to help the team take all three points from the game and with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in the other game on the night, they progressed as group leaders.
The team is now going to take on Italy, who also had a rather decent run in the group stages of the contest.
Despite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 doing as well as they have in the last three games, Rooney feels that the team is on course to have a real fight on their hands this time around.
Both Italy and England play a very similar style of football, with them relying on one target man up front, who attacks, while the rest of the team contains their opponents.
As a result, the forward feels that it will be down to whichever team is playing better football on the night.
"It'll be a tough game, they're quite similar to us in the way they play," insisted Rooney.

"They've got match winners in [Mario] Balotelli, [Antonio] Cassano and [Andrea] Pirlo. They've got some great players, and it's going to be a really tough game.”
"I'd say it's 50-50 going into the game, so we'll have to make sure we get everything right in order for us to win it."
He then went on to talk about just how good it feels to top the group, as he feels it will give the team the confidence that they need to go on and attack their upcoming opponents.
"I think getting through the group was always our aim, to top it is great for the lads and it gives us a lot of confidence as well," he said.

"We've got a game with Italy now that will be a tough game, so we'll have to make sure we're at our best to win it."
