Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has revealed that he used to imagine scoring goals before he actually participated in games.
Rooney broke into the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 side as a sixteen year old and from there on, the striker went on to become one of the best players in the world.
He is currently scoring goals for fun as a Manchester United player and is almost always the first name to be listed on the England squad list.
However, the forward has now gone on to reveal that one of the most important aspects to him becoming as good as he is, was visualising.
The forward has admitted that he used to visualise scoring goals one day before he would participate in games and this helped him develop confidence going into his game.
When talking about his thinking process and just how he went on to score so many goals, Rooney is quoted to have said: "Part of my preparation is I go and ask the kit man what colour we're wearing - if it's red top, white shorts, white socks or black socks"
"Then I lie in bed the night before the game and visualize myself scoring goals or doing well. You're trying to put yourself in that moment and trying to prepare yourself, to have a 'memory' before the game.”
The forward also admitted that he had been doing it throughout his career as a player and from the way things are going for him, no one would ask him to stop just yet
“I don't know if you'd call it visualizing or dreaming, but I've always done it, my whole life.”
“When I was younger, I used to visualize myself scoring wonder goals, stuff like that. From 30 yards out, dribbling through teams.”
Rooney scored a number of vital goals for United this season, but he couldn’t help the team go on and grab the Premier League trophy.
However, the striker is now set to take his form with him into the Euro’s to help out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, as he hopes to help the national team go on and win the prestigious tournament this time around.
