Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has admitted that he would much rather go on and win trophies with the Red Devils, instead of trying to hunt for personal glory.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international was back to his best once again, as the forward went on to score a brace against West Brom, as his side went on to go on and claim the top spot in the Premier League table, following their win.
The striker scored his first goal after making a perfectly timed run to reach a Javier Hernandez shot, as he went on to prod the ball past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Foster-c7445 and into the back of the net. The forward then scored his second goal from the penalty spot. Despite a lot
of pressure riding on his shoulders, he managed to keep his cool and slot the ball into the back of the net with ease.
Despite almost always coming to his sides rescue when they need him to, the striker has admitted that he isn’t looking to set any personal records, as he would much rather focus on trying to help United win trophies.
The forward is quoted to have said: "I know how many goals I need to achieve [his personal best] but I am not really focused on that at the minute"
"We have 10 games left and I just want to help us get those points we need to be successful. The most important thing is to win trophies."
Rooney then went on to reveal that his side had been playing rather poorly in Europe and it was time for the Red Devils to try and prove their worth.
The side lost to Athletic Bilbao by three goals to two at Old Trafford and their progress to the next round seems rather unlikely at the moment.
When talking about United’s European form and how the team has been played, Rooney added: "Fair enough, Europe has been disappointing, but we have had really tough games in the Premier League"
"We have played a lot of the top teams. Sometimes we have not been at our best but we have still got the wins."
