Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson claims that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 wasn’t up to his best against Aston Villa, reiterating that the striker played casually.
The Red Devils outclassed a spirited Villans’ side at Old Trafford yesterday in questionable circumstances as Ashley Young was awarded a dubious penalty in the opening stages.
England talisman Wayne Rooney was on hand to score his first of the game, before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 added a second, minutes prior to half-time.
After the break, the hosts were clearly in ascendency although they took some time before putting the game beyond doubt.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson felt that the forward was not up to his usual standards and struggled to impose himself during the game.
The former Everton attacker was often careless in possession and looked like a man short of his breathtaking best, as he failed to emulate his often world-class performances.
Although his workhorse attitude didn’t wane, he was able to make much difference other than his two goals and according to Ferguson; he needs to return to his very best sooner rather than later.
“He was careless. has to play on the edge of a game, when it is really close and competitive,” the Scot said.
“When the game gets to that casual bit, he is worse than the rest of them. He gets really casual about it. It is better when he is on the edge. Then he is a marvellous player.”
With the three points against the Lions, United have managed to maintain their five point lead at the top of the Premier League table and are edging ever closer to their 20th title.
Their performances though haven’t been particularly dominating nor have they have played champagne football, but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 claims that it doesn’t matter as long as they get the required result.
“I couldn't care less. long as we can win and we get the trophy, I couldn't care less where we win it. The fans would love it, but as long as you get your hands on the trophy you would take it in the back garden,” the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 defender said.
Fergie’s men now take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 before their crunch visit to the Etihad on the 30th of April.
