Hi - This is the first time this has happened, I've had 3 successful root canals before. The endodontist went in to do the root canal and couldn't find the root, he said it was closed up at the top and calcified.
Now apparently my choices are to have surgery where they go in through the gum and get to the bottom of the root that way - painful, expensive and sounds like lots of fun :-(
The other option is to let the tooth die and have it pulled and then get a bridge or implant.
Has anyone ever had this happen - or do you have knowledge of this. To top it off I got to pay 460.00 for the pleasure of not having my root canal (but the joy of novacaine and drilling!). It's been a pleasant day!
Thanks!
