http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RK-Kleinveldt-c2334 relieved after performing well in the first T20 – Cricket News Update
Having delivered a match-winning performance in the first T20 of the three-match series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 at the Kingsmead, Durban, Rory Kleinveldt, the South African pacer, is relieved, especially after a disastrous Test debut against Australia last month.
After impressing the national selectors at the domestic level, having grabbed more than two hundred first-class wickets, the fast bowler from Cape Town was handed over the Test cap at Brisbane last month.
However, it turned out to be an anti climax for the strongly built cricketer, who conceded 97 runs in 21 overs, without picking up a wicket. Question marks were raised about the 29-year-old cricketer’s selection as he miserably failed to make an impression against the Kangaroos.
The fast bowler bounced back in the second match and picked up four wickets at Adelaide, only to be dropped for the last encounter.
In the first T20 against the Black Caps, Kleinveldt impressed one and all, picking up three important scalps after giving away just 18 runs in 3.2 overs, which included a maiden. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 won the match comprehensively by eight wickets, with the speedster being named as the Player of the Match.
While expressing his views during the post-match presentation ceremony, Kleinveldt said that the track at Durban was helpful for the bowlers and predicted that the pitch for the next T20 at East London will be more in favour of the batsmen.
"It's not going to get any worse after the first Test. It has just been a lot of hard work in the nets. Wicket today was a bit up and down, not as good as the wickets in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746,” the fast bowler said. “I am always keen to use my bouncer, as a dot ball or a wicket-taking option. Different conditions in East London, will be a bit slower than it was here."
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129, the losing captain, also vowed on the occasion to perform better in the next encounter and admitted that South Africa were the better team on the day.
“We were probably a bit too keen, we were outplayed. We will be up for it, and hopefully have a much improved performance," the wicketkeeper/batsman expressed.
