Rory MacDonald: I am preparing hard to hurt B. J. Penn badly at UFC 152 – UFC News
Rory MacDonald, the former KOTC lightweight champion, vowed that he will enter the octagon at his best as he is preparing extremely hard, adding that he will hurt the former UFC lightweight champion badly.
MacDonald is quite mad at the fact that B. J. Penn, his UFC 152 opponent, is not giving due importance to their clash. Rory is scheduled to take on Penn in a non-title three-round welterweight bout which will be televised live from Air Canada Centre in Toronto,
Canada.
The fight card will be headlined by the Flyweight championship bout between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson and will also witness Michael Bisping take on Brian Stann while co-headlining the showdown.
The September 22, 2012 clash between two of the best welterweights is getting heated up with every passing day. Rory recently bashed the former lightweight and welterweight champion commenting that the 33-year-old is not taking interest in the upcoming bout,
adding that Penn is still thinking about old issues and feuds.
When asked as to what are his plans for the legendary brawler, Rory in a quite harsh manner commented, “He is all upset because Georges whooped him, but, I am going to hurt him even worse, so. I am training for the best B.J. I am just preparing myself to
be the best version. I am going to come out evolved, I am going to be in shape, explosive and exciting like I always do. I am going to be very technical and I am going to be on point.”
Rory, 23, is a young Canadian who has built an impressive resume since the inception of his professional mixed martial art career. The young lad has been in a total of 14 mixed martial art bouts, boasting 13 wins.
Interestingly, MacDonald, also known as ‘Ares’, is an all-rounder as he has nailed six of his opponents by knockout and another six by making them submit. Moreover, Rory has been on a wild win streak and has lost just one bout in a total of five UFC bouts.
With recent wins over names like Che Mills, Mike Pyle and Nate Diaz, Rory is confident that he can nail an old out of form veteran opponent. MacDonald stated, “Last time I saw him he looked really out of shape. I don't know where his head is at in this,
but, he better get serious or I am going to hurt him very badly.”
Penn, also known as ‘The Prodigy’, has been in a total of 26 mixed martial art bouts, boasting 16 wins. The clash will be a tough one and Penn will look forward at capitalising this opportunity to make a comeback on the win track.
