Rory MacDonald not in favour of offering ‘words of wisdom’ to Georges St-Pierre – UFC Special
Rory MacDonald is not in the mood to offer any words of wisdom to UFC welterweight titlist Georges St-Pierre. According to MacDonald, GSP should believe in himself and fight the way he always did against Condit. MacDonald asserts GSP does not need any advice
to revive his career, he is already good enough to do so on his own.
“I think Georges doesn't need any more people in his ear,” said MacDonald in an interview with MMA Weekly. “I think if Georges fights the way Georges fights, he'll have no problem. He doesn't need me to tell him tips or anything. He'll react to what's in
there. He'll do great.
“Grow as a fighter big time. It was the most important fight of my career so far, as far as growth, it opened my eyes to a lot of things, changed my outlook and it's made me very hungry.”
MacDonald, who lost to Carlos Condit to suffer his first career defeat, believes GSP has everything to defeat the interim welterweight titlist.
On the other hand, Georges St-Pierre will be making his UFC return against Carlos Condit in order to revive his career. Being one of the most favoured fighters by the fans and UFC officials, GSP needs an impressive win in order to prove his worth.
According to president f the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White, GSP is the second best fighter in the organisation after middleweight champion Anderson Silva. White wants to put Silva and GSP in the cage against each other, hoping it to be UFC’s
first ever-super fight. However, White wants GSP to first defeat Condit in his comeback bout to prove he is the same fighter that he was before a career-devastating knee injury.
For now, GSP is training with Dan Hardy to get ready for the show. Since he is the best in the division, he is being favoured widely over Condit. However, the former ‘Rush’ and now ‘Silver Lining’ can land up in an upset, since he has revived his entire
fighting style. Whatever happens, GSP needs to ensure he grabs a victory by hook or by crook to get a position against Silva soon.
