Rory McIlroy - So close, yet so far!
Prominent Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, even after losing to Hunter Mahan in the final round of World Match Play, is still all set and geared to continue his golfing journey.
His all time reason acting as the perfect cover-up is that it is all a part of life. At the age of 22, the golfer has been able to secure unprecedented achievements.
However, he is ready to accept it that it was not his failure, nor will it be his last.
During all these years, he has treated golf course as a training ground. He makes mistakes and learns from them and this is precisely why he is making his way towards the top.
Just before the event, Rory was able to make it till the second position replacing Lee Westwood.
He thought he just had one more step to go through. Nevertheless, results at Match Play proved to be otherwise.
Commenting on the recent changes that took place McIlroy said, “Maybe for some people the past year might have been overwhelming with everything that’s gone on”.
“But I think if you have a certain type of approach and a certain type of mind, you can handle it. I feel like I’m pretty laid back and sort of take things in my stride and don’t let it affect me too much,” he said.
It is important to mention here that in order to pursue his golf career with the same rhythm and momentum, McIlroy will be teeing it off in South Florida at the Honda Classic.
He further added that, unlike other many senior players currently adding to the skyline of golf, he has definitely been able to perform well than most of them.
“So I think I might have been able to handle things a little better than some people would have,” he commented.
His self-motivation has played a pivotal role in helping him overcome the loss of the event and he now prepares himself for the upcoming event in Florida.
Furthermore, apart from all other technical reasons, McIlroy has always provided his family special significance and, like in all other events, they have supported and encouraged him to win.
