Rory McIlroy preparing for the Masters Tournament
After plenty of hard work, Rory McIlroy has achieved the honour to be on the No. 1 position in most of the rankings and charts.
The 22-year-old Northern Irish professional strived hard and achieved the glory of the leading position at the Official World Golf Rankings, after winning the Honda Classic in Florida.
He was tremendous and displayed amazing performances. Since January, he has played two events on the European Tour, one on the Professional Golf Association and two World Golf Championships.
The young gun started his current season from the European Tour and finished fifth and second. Later, he headed to the US and played WGC - Accenture Match Play Championship.
He recorded a runner-up position there and amazed the spectators by recording appealing performances throughout the four-day tournament.
After gaining popularity at the WGC staged event, he moved to the PGA’s Honda Classic and won the title. No other field member was able to compete against the scores of 12-under 268.
His enormous birdies and pars helped him to be the leader in Florida. Then, after recording his first win, he appeared at the Cadillac Championship, another WGC staged event, and finished third.
He is in his full form and finished all the tournaments in the top-5 on the leaderboard. He boosted his ranking and earnings.
By claiming the top OWGR position, he also captured the top position at the PGA and European Tour money lists. He has earned $2,392,000 at the PGA and €1,324,366 at the European Tour so far.
McIlroy also increased his number of fans by reaching the top position of the FedEx Cup point list and for securing the no. 1 position on Europe’s Ryder Cup qualifying tables.
He is also the number one in stroke average and for reaching the leading spot in the US.
Such impressive and appealing positions are boosting his confidence for the upcoming tournaments, especially the Masters Tournament.
Masters is one of the major tournaments and is organised every year. McIlroy is now looking to win the Masters that is scheduled to start from April 5 to 8, at Augusta in Georgia.
After such wonderful achievements, McIlroy is going to take leave for a while. He will return to golf at Augusta in April. Meanwhile, he will be practising hard to further improve his performance.
