Rory McIlroy to have dinner at the White House
Rory McIlroy received the honour to be a guest at the White House, to spend an evening with the world leaders and for dinner.
The 22-year-old Northern Irish professional golf player was happy to receive the invitation from the White House officials.
He has been called during the British Prime Minister David Cameron's visit to the United States.
"Going to have dinner in the White House tomorrow!" McIlroy posted on Twitter, on March 13.
Soon after the news was revealed, a photo was also posted on Facebook, showing that he was dressing up and getting ready for the dinner.
"(R)eally looking forward to it. . . I have to look my best though and got some help from Alexander Nash in New York last week!" McIlroy added.
Recently the young Northern Irish gun reached the top of the world rankings. He claimed the leading position from Luke Donald, after winning the Honda Classic impressively.
He was tremendous throughout the four-day tournament and displayed massive strokes, birdies and pars.
His driving distance and accuracy was the best. He defeated the world leading players of the field.
McIlroy’s current season has been going superbly so far. He started the 2012 season at the European Tour and played two events there.
He finished both the tournaments in the top-5 and reached to the highest on the European Tour money list standings.
Later, he played and competed well at the Accenture Match Play Championship, a World Golf Championships staged event.
He was tremendous there and secured the runner-up position on the leaderboard.
The 2010 US Open winner was looking at the no. 1 world position since January and impressively achieved the honour after winning the Honda Classic. No other field member was able to beat McIlroy’s 12-under 268 score.
The last tournament he played was the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship. He again continued his leading performance and finished on the third position.
Now after bagging several achievements and cherished memories, he will be adding another glory of having dinner with the White House officials.
He will be accompanied by the British Prime Minister David Cameron and the respected US President Barack Obama.
