Rory McIlroy working hard as U.S Open approaches, former World number one in a do or die situation!
According to Rory McIlroy, he is geared up to defend his U.S title, yet, this is just a statement.
The former World number one has missed not one, not two, but three consecutive cuts, by far his worst career stats.
The arrogant McIlroy was seen high in the previous months when he stood tall in the World rankings and used to claim being the best in the world.
Recently, things have taken a 360 degree turn in his career and he is struggling to fetch his form back.
On the other hand, the current World number one Luke Donald is having the time of his life as he has no swing issues, no girlfriend distraction and is focusing on the right thing, golf.
The former World number one has lost his focus and is noticed being deviated most of the time during his play.
He is determined to play as many games as he can before the U.S Open title so that he may get a grip on his play.
“I just feel like I need some rounds” said McIlroy.
Rounds would definitely get him practice, yet, to win, he requires something else, consistency and focus.
McIlroy lacks focus. The charm and hype of being the best in the World has taken over his passion and the force that pushed him on the top. He lacks the aggressive approach that he once depicted. We have not seen him go to the extreme to achieve the best
out of a tournament.
His relationship with the tennis star Caroline Wozniacki has also been rumoured the reason for his down fall.
The couple’s distance may have caused both of them their focus and game play as both of them are suffering in their individual careers.
McIlroy finds it hard to digest that his play is worsening day by day and accepts the fact that it has shocked him to the core.
“It’s more of a shock than anything else, It's something I haven't really had to deal with in a while. I just have to knuckle down and figure it out and get back to the way I was at the start of the year” said the former World number one.
Hope still resides as McIlroy marches to defend his U.S title. This time, he requires the best of his craft to overcome his bad form.
