Rory McIlroy’s misery continues as he misses flight to Malaysia – Golf News
Irishman Rory McIlroy’s misery continues with him. He lost the Masters and now things are not turning out well for him. His bad patch continues as he was to feature in the Maybank Malaysian Open.
McIlroy, who had to fly from Georgia to Malaysia with Charl Schwartzel, failed to catch the flight. He was rather finding his clubs and now it looks like he will not be participating in the Malaysian Open. It takes around 25 hours to reach from Georgia to
Malaysia.
The 21-year-old, who played in a horrific manner on the final day at Masters, was more disappointed as he failed to catch the flight. He started the final round with a four shot lead which vanished in no time.
Rory was keen to forget his performance and move ahead to play in the star field in Malaysia. This was like adding fuel to fire for the young Irishman. He was eager to play at Kuala Lumpur Golf Club where all the top ranked players are participating.
McIlroy in his recent interview said, "I feel like I'm playing really well at the minute. It showed for the first three days of Augusta anyway that the game is there. Hopefully, instead of doing it for three days like last week I can do it for four days
this week. I don't think I need to change anything, just be a little calmer and a little more patient on Sunday and hopefully that will be enough."
Rory who is currently ranked at 9th in the world has loads of things on his mind right now. It is difficult for him to get over with the final round at Augusta National and move one. Things might have been different if his score of eight-over
par, 80 was not there.
He still regrets his tee shot at the 10th where his disaster started on the final day. He would probably want to forget his drive and move on as he plays in the tournaments.
Now, Rory can only take good cherish good memories from the first three rounds that he played at the Masters.
The South African Schwartzel took full advantage of McIlroy’s lost strokes as he won the Masters this year.
This was Rory’s only chance to recover and once again charge the field.
