Rory Mcllroy gets a Mural in return for his achievements
Rory Mcllroy, the exciting young prospect from Northern Ireland has already surprised everyone with his performances. He is one of the best young golfers of recent times and has already achieved so many feats at a very young age.
At the age of 22, he won the US Open, and he has been the recent number one golfer in the world.
The Irishman’s services and achievements have not gone unnoticed in his home country. A mural has been crafted in his home town, Holyland.
This is not the first time that the town will have a mural on one of the buildings but earlier paintings have been regarding the World War and the Civil War, showcasing different messages.
This mural will be the first of its kind and Rory Mcllroy has been asked to come and have a look at it himself.
“We have been in contact with some people who know the McIlroy family to suggest he come down and inspect the mural, so we would love to see him here,” said Declan Boyle, the pioneer if the project.
Declan Boyle said, “It was the intention of the mural of Rory to send out a positive message that if you work hard enough at what you do you can achieve your goals”.
This idea came into existence when Rory Mcllroy was awarded a degree from University of Ulster, many of the previous murals do not project a positive image. The local authorities were also very helpful during the course of the project.
“There first had been a 20-foot high hedge in front of the building’s wall before we started, so we got permission to trim the hedge and then we just cleaned the place up, prepared the wall and started painting,” said Boyle.
Since the mural was unveiled, many people have stormed to the area to have a look at their sporting hero.
The mural depicts the perfect picture of the area, if we take a close look at the painting there are birds, frogs and other wildlife around. All these wildlife creatures are present in and around Belfast.
