Rose Garden dominant in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Maiden at Fairyhouse
Fairyhouse will become home for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Maiden over six furlongs on Wednesday, 13th June. Assembled for the race is a line-up of nine two-year-old runners. The prize money set for the winner is €8,625.
Four of the contestants are attempting to clear their maiden for the very first time while the rest have given it a try before. None of them however have been able to pull out anything decent from their racing experiences.
Rose Garden, Elusive City’s two-year-old bay filly out of mare, Aplysia, scored second in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden on 24th May at Tipperary over five furlongs.
Zoola won the race while the 11/8 favourite, Truly Madly, ended third on the field of six.
Acclamation’s two-year-old bay filly, Boston Rocker, our of mare, Rocking, finished sixth in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fun Maiden on 20th May at Navan over six furlongs. The race was won by Cristoforo Colombo who led the 11/4 favourite runner up of the race, Scream Blue Murder, by one and a half length.
Coming at terms with the third position was Secret Recipe.
Another entry who tried breaking the maiden back in April is Lindenhurst, Captain Marvelous’ two-year-old bay colt out of mare, Royal Jubilee. He lost the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Maiden on22nd April at Curragh over five furlongs.
The race was won by the 1/3 favourite, Infanta Branca, who led the runner up of the race, Leitir Mor, by just half a length.
Lindenhurst ended fourth on the field of seven.
Tiger Stripes tried his luck in the Big Bad Bob European Breeders Fund Maiden (Colts & Geldings) at Curragh over six furlongs on 27th May. The race was won by Lines Of Battle while the 9/4 favourite of the race, Leitir Mor, qualified as the runner up.
Today a mix of those who tried breaking their maiden earlier and those who will attempt it today for the first time, will battle it out at Fairyhouse.
Rose Garden missed the opportunity by a very slight margin and has the highest of the chances today to make an impact.
