Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that left wing-back Danny Rose will be returning to White Hart Lane after this season’s loan spell with Sunderland comes to an end.
The Portuguese manager has informed Sunderland that he will not be allowing them to sign the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international to stay with the club permanently after his season long spell comes to an end.
It is understood that Sunderland were eager to sign the talented prospect on a permanent deal, but Villas-Boas has dashed their hopes to sign the player.
The 22-year old has been impressive with the Black Cats ever since he joined them for a season long loan spell in the summer. The player has made quite an impression on Wearside, and it is understood that manager Martin O’Neill was keen on acquiring the
player on a permanent basis.
Villas-Boas has however revealed that Rose has a future with Spurs, and will be returning when the season ends. Speaking to reporters, he said:
‘Completely impossible. We have big expectations for him in the future. Our idea is that he comes back to Tottenham next year. We appreciate what he’s been doing over here and it’s been a great experience. He’s been extremely well manager. We can’t give
away a player of his quality.”
Sunderland hosted Tottenham at the Stadium of Light this past Saturday and ended up losing the game 1-2. After having taken the lead, the hosts went down courtesy of an own goal by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Cuellar, which was later followed by Aaron Lennon’s strike which sealed
the three points for the visitors.
After two successive victories, Sunderland lost on the weekend, but will be taking positives from their fighting performance and the news that Rose will be allowed to stay till the end of the season.
Danny Rose will return to Tottenham, but only after this season ends. Martin O’Neill will be happy with the news that the youngster will not be recalled in the January transfer window. The manager hailed the player’s talent and ability and said:
