Rosebuds Dream wins Owners’ Bonus Series Final
Despite being a non-favourite runner, Rosebuds Dream perpetrated a big upset yesterday, February 3 at Perry Barr racing track by winning Owners’ Bonus Series Final. In the Grade A8 480m race, the black b***h beat the top favourite participant of the
event, Glory Times, with a huge margin of 3 ¼ lengths.
With the 7 to 2 starting price, the M S James-trained b***h broke from trap 6, and took 29.59 seconds to reach the finish line.
The daughter of Royal Impact, out of Lovely Rumble earned the first ever victory of her short career which started on January 20, 2012. She finished 6th in the first and 2nd in the second race.
The last night’ victory exposed the novice runner’s professional skills fully, and the bookmakers also realised the talent of the b***h.
James was also packed with pleasure after the race. He hailed the effort and fighting spirit of his trainee, and anticipated a promising career for her in the future.
Most of the bookies, who were present at the venue, applauded Rosebuds Dream. They were ready to stake their bankroll on her in the next races.
The topper proudly walked away with the cash prize worth of £500. The total prize money for the final contest was £1100,
Glory Times, despite being the 6 to 4 hot favourite, was not be able to unleash enough firepower in the race, and thus finished second after trailing by 3 ¼ lengths. The black dog broke from trap 2, and crossed the boundary strap in 29.85 seconds.
Whelped in July 2009, the son of Westmead Joe, out of Dukeries Lily won his last race convincingly on January 27. He is trained by P Meek.
The third top spot in the final went to Kitty Glow. The black b***h broke from trap 3, and completed the distance in 29.97 seconds. She lagged 1 ½ lengths behind. The daughter of Premier Fantasy, out of Kitty The Yank gets training from K G Babe.
Among the other three runners, Lowry finished fourth while, Stoney Black and Iceman Khani earned fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
By and large, it was an amazing and awe-inspiring event. Both the spectators and the bettors enjoyed it a lot.
